Halloween is almost here! I feel as excited about it for Leo as I did as a child. I remember my mom always having me wear a down coat over my totally cool costume which runied the look. The loads of candy obtained and sorting it out when we got home. Of course, the loose candy corns and raisins or apples had to be disposed of as "you dont know what could have been in them." After being in Argentina for 2 years (with minimal acknowlegement of the holiday) its good to partake.
Yesterday, we took Leo to a pumpkin patch in Scottsdale. They had some huge pumpkins and gourds. (It was Maximo's first time in a pumpkin patch too.) The First Christian Church organized it and gave the money earned from it to sponsor families from overseas to the U.S. There was a family from Burma wandering around the pumpkin patch who had just came to the U.S. afterd living for 10 years in a refugee camp in Thailand.
On a lighter note, Leo picked out a huge pumpkin. We will be carving it into a Jack o'lantern.
